Well, nursing moms get pretty good at having the right clothes and covers with them so that most could nurse in plain view without anyone noticing. If they are being discreet.
That said.... we are the only mammal that would find nursing to be sexually explicit or inappropriate... one of the little neuroses of Western culture.

Okay but if mom is 200+ pounds and doesn't cover up, I'm inclined to lose my appetite... and I nursed two babies for a total of 30 months.

If they are being discreet. Hmmm. I find it a bit strange that the infant should be discreet when he eats when everyone else in the joint is eating out in the open ;-)

We are also the only mammal that produces art (yes, I have heard of the elephant that paints), much of which celebrates the human form, the most alluring aspect of which (to me, anyway) is the female breast. Female breasts attract attention, even when being put to the use God made them for. That said, public nursing has never offended or aroused me, and I am amazed that Burger King could not come up with a better apology.
