When I first read the full column by Rall I just shrugged. There is so much evil and anti-Americanism in the world that it's hard to get outraged about all of it. I'm glad Andrew Sullivan hasn't lost his sense of outrage.

The thing that is so smarmy about the Rall column is that it's written in the voice of an Iraqi terrorist. Rall and others can say, "Hey this isn't really me talking -- this is the perspective of an Iraqi extremist. I don't really believe all this -- I just want my readers to know the arguemtns that average people in Iraq are hearing."

So he can write the most hateful and treasonous things -- and invite Americans to agree with his writing -- without taking any responsibility for the words himself.

It's a sick and devious kind of cleverness.

Maybe the moderators thought we couldn't handle it, or maybe it just got moved somewhere where I can't find it now.

The field is ripe with our enemies, the shame is that we tolerate them at all. Civil rights should end when the individual works against the foundations upon which those civil rights rest.

At first I was delighted with the Patriot Act that would prevent enemies from hiding behind our protections. Protectons designed to insure the rights of peaceful, civil, individuals. Too bad it had so many kinks in it.

Ted Rall is a sick man. I never had the misfortune of coming across his garbage before, but I can say without question that Robert Fisk is a flag waving patriot next to Ted Rall.

Do you think this *(&#@ has the guts to read his filth in person to any of the families that survived the 9/11 attacks or families of those lost protecting us?

He'd quickly be praying for the civility of a lynch mob.
