President Roh Moo-hyun met former U.S. President Bill Clinton at Cheong Wa Dae yesterday to discuss major issues concerning the Korean Peninsula, including North Korea's nuclear threat.

During the meeting, Roh and Clinton talk about the U.S.-brokered 1994 accord that covered the construction of two light water nuclear reactors in North Korea, a project that was suspended recently.

They also agreed that North Korea's nuclear dispute must be defused peacefully through dialogue, said a presidential spokesman.

Clinton arrived in South Korea Thursday for his four-day visit at the invitation of Kim Seung-youn, chairman of the Korea-United States Exchange Council and Hanhwa Group.

It is the first time he has returned to Seoul since completing his two-term presidency in 2001. He previously made a state visit in November 1998.

After the meeting with Roh, Clinton met former President Kim Dae-jung and delivered a speech at the Seoul Broadcasting System building.

The former U.S. president attended a ceremony in Beijing on Monday to celebrate the opening of a Korea Life Insurance Co. office, an affiliate of the Hanhwa Group.

In China, Clinton met Chinese leader Hu Jintao and his predecessor Jiang Zemin to discuss North Korean issues and Sino-U.S. relations.

When is Ashcroft going to revoke Clinton's passport? Colin Powell should be informing all foreign leaders that Bill Clinton was impeached. He is NOT an ambassador or spokesman for American foreign policy. Whatever he says is his own opinion and is NOT newsworthy.

It has happened before that ex-presdidents have acted as envoys for the sitting prez. Clinton used Carter. I think Reagan used Nixon. Sometimes they carry a letter from the President.

It occurs to me that one way to drive Clinton crazy would be to ask him to carry a sealed "For your eyes only" letter and don't tell him what's in it. This would amount to dragooning him into an official mission while gagging him at the same time.

It's unthinkable to me that this impreached rapist is actually going on government missions, ESPECIALLY North Korea. What is our government thinking or are they thinking at all. Clinton is a loose cannon, responsible for the problems we've now got with N. Korea. He needs to be grounded.

Somehow I truly doubt that President Bush officially "sent" CLinton over there - I read on another free republic site that Clinton, McCauliffe and AL Gore have ALL made separate trips to S. Korea in the past 3 months....This little known fact is very disturbing and I would bet it involves money!

No, I'm sure he didn't send him over either but the fact is this scum bag is over there trying to make deals and broker peace. He needs a call from someone telling him to cool his jets. He's probably collecting donations for hildabeast's presidental campaign.
