There is a double standard. The above things are only 'outrageous' if the other side does it. This also illustrates their cynicism as well. They don't really care about these things either. They are only trotted out as weapons against their political opponents.

B I N G O !
You hit the nail on the head, it's a power play, pure and simple!

He and Bond share a bond. Both have gotten a free ride for years so that none of their idiocy was ever labelled as such. The result is that they really believe that their idiocy is wisdom.

I think you may mean 2008. IMO, that's still too early - she has the managerial experience, but she needs an elected office under her belt. If she can win a gubernatorial office and get re-elected, she's viable.

I see her as a good VP pick in 2008. She's draw soccer moms, nascar dads, conservatives, and a whole lotta people in the middle.

The same people who would vote against her, would vote against anyone republican no matter what, so she does have a good appeal to anyone who is both republican and or undecided.

Agreed. It would help if she shifted right on abortion, but beyond that she's good veep material.

I would say she needs to be the P candidate in 2008. Remember, the Dems ARE going to run Hillary in 2008. I mean, hell, she's not even running in 2004 and she's leading the Dem pack. Think! In 2008 the Repubs can NOT afford to be seen as the party of rich white men. Rice is the only candidate that can counter the vast left-minded Hillary masses, and make no mistake, they are VAST.

You are quite correct that I intended to say 2008. You may be correct that it would not hurt her to get elected gov. somewhere. I would offer my home state, North Carolina.
