Why pull it? There was no sensitive info presented. If the AMs see fit they can delete specific replies without pulling the entire thread.

Actually, there was. No harm done in the end, thank God, but until the President was outside Iraqi airspace, ANY leak about his appearance in Iraq put his life in theoretical danger. If anything had gone wrong with this trip, it's quite possible that ChiefKujo would have been court-martialed, and FR would have received so much negative publicity that it might have ended up having to shut down.

Not that I think CK was in any way intending to cause trouble, of course. Just saying that the amount of secrecy around this trip was unprecedented in modern history. The reporters on the plane were told that if word leaked before arrival in any way shape or form, they'd turn right around and head back to US soil without landing. AF1 landed in total darkness. The media was banned from reporting Bush's trip until after he had already made it out of the country. Etc.
