Again, I do not see anything in the First Amendment that states Islam is not covered under the part about "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;". Recently there has been certainly one case, perhaps several, where a "religion" was deemed illegal (animal sacrifices, etc.) and not subject to Constitutional protection.
To me, islam satisfies all the requirements to be treated in identically the same manner. That no exceptions are possible is simply not true.

Would you care to cite those cases?
Certainly those who use religion as a shield to commit crimes should be punished, but I fail to see how those who peaceably practice any religion should face any interference from the government.
Or are you saying some religions are more equal than others?
