Bill O'Reilly was complaining recently about celebrity performers getting paid for charity gigs. He thought they should just donate their time. For example, he said, when he participated in a charity event in Hawaii, he didn't take any money for it. The charity merely paid for him -- and his family -- to go to Hawaii.

Different rules for different fools.

" {Taking 8,550} is apparently legal under a 1997 revision to state ethics rules that allows the governor and other state officials to accept gifts from employees and friends who don't do business with his office. "

Outrageous. They changed the rules so that taking payoffs is extremely easy.

Ex-- I am a genearal contractor. Rowland steers contracts my way. I send two subcontractors (sep corps) to his house and do an $ 8550 job, paying for both labor and materials. Then I just write a check for $8550 to the subs.

There are even easier ways to do it.

The idea of a company giving the governor an $8550 gift for no reason is absurd on its face. And the more important question is: WHAT OTHER CORRUPTION IS HE INVOLVED IN?

The fact that someone of his ideology is a good friend of the Bushes is yet another disappointment this year.
