I'd call China a fledgling basketcase as well, with complete genocide of Tibetans, natives of Xinjiang, invasions of neighbouring coutnries, over-hyped superiority syndrome when it's mostly been a backwater.

If China is a basketcase, why is it getting more FDI than any other country now?

China is a basketcase and the companies are going to make their profits and run -- like the Opium wars. Strip China bare only this time it'll be with the connivance of china's rulers -- the commie party and it's privileged sons and daughters.

Furthermore, the Han Chinese are known for genocide -- look at the Uighurs and Tibetans -- their lands invaded and the Han chinese pushed into those lands while the local population is liquadated.

A banana republic is a one-commodity nation -- like Saudi Arabia or the states in Central america or West Asia that can export only one thign -- bananas. China's a banana state as it's people have been brainwashed and are used to people telling them what to do, they have no individual personalities, only drones.
