I saw a devastating critique of the Boulder police investigation on one of those cable forensic shows. Can't remember if it was A&E's Cold Case, but I think it was. I was convinced that someone in the family had done it until I saw this show. They brought up the best homicide detective in the country from Texas to examine the evidence. He made a brilliant case that JonBenet was indeed killed by an intruder. I don't remember much more about it other than this detective backed up his theory with evidence and logic and completely convinced me of the parents' innocence.

I would bet you a dollar to a doughnut the ransom note was not even mentioned, let alone came into play, during this Texas cop's investigation.

As someone else has already said, you just cannot get around that note.
