An important detail is arrival time since al-Queda carefully times their attack.

That's a very important point. The planes were bound for LAX; I don't know what time they were scheduled to leave, exactly, or when they would have arrived. Do they stop on the East Coast first? But figuring that out could be important. (Particularly to me, since I'm going to CA tomorrow...)
