I question how a plane that leaves Paris and intentionally crashes in L.A. or Vegas will have much jet fuel left to create similar distruction.

Those were Boston to LA non-stop flights on 9/11. A plane going from Paris to LA non-stop should have the same amount of fuel arriving on the East Coast in order to continue on to LA that a plane departing the East Coast would have to reach the same destination. The distance and therefore the amount of fuel on board is the same as it was on 9/11 if they attack an East Coast target from Paris.

Your point would be relevant if they were planning to strike a target on the East Coast. Allegedly, they were aiming for L.A. or Vegas, hence the reason for my comments.

Maybe if they were on a flight from Hawaii to D.C., and targeted California or Nevada, the same theory would apply.

Islam Militant has more to lose than they think, here. The dearth of street demonstrations in the US following 9/11 by American Muslims in support of their country went unremarked by this administration for reasons of temporary unity.

Another 9/11-sized atrocity may be what is necessary for America to stop looking for bombs and start looking for terrorists. No more limiting frisks to hotties and grannies at clogged air terminals. Profiling will be de riguer and we will at last be forced into a war that is heavily religious. Mecca, Medina, and Palestine will no longer be sequestered. And no more will there be a difference between blowing up Americans and blowing up Israelis. Osama will be the death of his people.

I got that part, but that shows that this guy thinks it's ok to hijack a plane and slam it into a military installation (killing dozens of passengers) in order to randomly kill people who are either in the military or might be in the military, and who therefore might possibly have....what? Been in desert Storm rescuing Arabs from Arabs? Or in Kosovo saving Muslims from Christians?

That makes him a terrorist in my book.

In a war, it is legitimate to attack the military targets of the enemy, and I suppose the Pentagon would qualify, but wars can only be fought be nations, and attacks cannot be made by using civilian jets.
