Now...there is no signal from Spirit. Though it should still be bouncing at the moment (bouncing caused the lose of signal...hopefully temporary?).

Dear Aliens,
We know that you have been monitoring our TV signals for decades in order to study our society.
We realize that watching "The Love Boat" , "The A-Team", "Joe Millionaire",WWF Wrestling, Monster Truck Rallies ,Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Paris Hilton, and James Carville has perhaps not given you the best opinion of our culture.
But we want you to know that TV does not represent most of us, and we are exploring Mars out of sincere scientific interest, not for the purpose of filming a reality TV show there-at least not any time soon
So could you please stop destroying our probes?
Thank you from The People of Earth

I say we send the rover over to look at the crash site of the EU probe...

I'm sure your craft is functioning just fine. It's just not sending back signals or taking your commands. Just a minor set back, eh?

Lost my real player feed as well.

Hopefully. But, pre-landing speculation is, that it could take either 10 minutes, to 24 hours to get a signal after it landed (and in turn, get pictures of Mars). And this is supposing that Spirit survived (which crossing my fingers...).

Doesn't it have to deflate the balloons and open its solar panels to power up before sending back a signal? This delay is planned isn't it?

They have same data recieved but are questioning whether it was after landing. They are concerned the data is later than expected.

Foxnews.com says the rover landed
To: WackyKat
Thats what I think. The signal stopped when it was bouncing. Which, I assume is difficult to get a signal when the equipment is bouncing around.

The batteries will keep power alive until the solar arrays recharge them.
