What is most upsetting (but not surprising) is to read Michelle Naef, administrator of M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence excuse it all by saying: "I don't think she was, in any way, trying to demean Mahatma Gandhi...To be generous to her, I would say it was a poor attempt at humor..." Would she be that 'generous' if said by a republican?
