Kidnapped Girls OK, Suspected Murderer Injured (Earlier Amber Alert)

A Levi's Call -- Georgia's Amber Alert -- has been issued Thursday morning for three White girls believed to have been abducted from Gordon County, officials said.

According to Gordon County authorities, the girls are ages 3, 4 and 10. They are believed to have been kidnapped by 32-year-old Jerry William Jones. He is described as a White male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

The girls are 10-year-old Brittney Phelps, 4-year-old Brandy Jones and 3-year-old Tammy Jones. They were last seen on January 7 at 185 Pack Road in Ranger Ga.

They may be traveling in a 1991 maroon Ford Explorer with the Georgia license plate 730YFV. They were last seen traveling west on Highway 156 from Highway 141.

Gordon County authorities say the girls are in extreme danger. The abduction is reportedly connected to four murders that occurred Wednesday night at the Pack Road residence.

Gordon County Sheriff's deputies and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are at the scene.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen Jones or the children is asked to contact the Gordon County Sheriff's Office at (706) 629-1244. Or, immediately contact the local authorities.

Gordon County is located about 75 miles northwest of Atlanta.

Jones is currently on probation for recent charges, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer in Floyd County and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Gordon.

His past criminal record includes minor offenses of receiving stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle and shoplifting. These crimes occurred in Clayton, Henry and Fulton counties.

He was last incarcerated in January of 1993 and released in August of 1997.

Levi's Call is Georgia's version of the Amber Alert and will allow for the use of highway alert signs and a nationwide coordination of law enforcement efforts in the three girls' return.

He called his ex wife at her boyfriend's house to let him know that her parents, sister and baby are dead and that he will kill the last 3 girls.

If those three girls make it out alive I will be shocked. He has nothing left to lose.

I'm certain he feels life wronged him. He lost both his parents to the ValuJet crash in FL, then lost his wife and kids to divorce and child services. Some sick defense attorney will turn him into a victim if he lives to see a trial.

It could have been prevented by this man picking himself up and realizing in time he might get to see his kids again if he straightens up, he might even remarry. Instead he CHOSE to go off and make innocent people pay for what were at least some self inflicted problems. This man is the cause.

How many Men here have been through a painful divorce but didnt go and kill anyone, especially a baby? Quite a few i bet.

I don't see a good end to this. I, unfortunately, think the girls may already be dead. Although there is also the possibility he is heading west and will sonn turn north toward Oregon with the goal of killing the girls in front of the Ex , then killing her, and then then himself.

I can see one of two possible outcomes :

Most Likely : He will end up in a shootout with police and will either be killed or take his own life.

OR : If he is captured, it is quite possible some Southern Justice may take place. In this case be on the lookout for the old "Shot While Trying to Escape"

Not the same as peterson, he planned his deal months in advance.This guy snapped imho,I don't think he planned it.Note to everyone.If you are ever dealing with a jealous or disraught person, be careful of what you say unless you have means of protection. I don't know went on in the in-laws house but I bet words were exchanged before anyone was killed. Sorta like road rage, somebody giving the one finger salute after cutting someone off.This is especialy true if the person has a history of violent behavior.
