Your numbers invite the Democrats to claim that we have deficits under Republican administrations and surpluses under Democrats.

I'm worried a lot of Americans will conclude that gridlock is the only way to get spending under control in Washington. The Republicans had no problem turning down much of Clinton's spending, and they even got the budget into surplus. But put a Republican in the White House, and suddenly Republicans have never met a spending bill they didn't like.

I never said I was all knowing, but I have seen close to ten seperate treads today on this board that have been very critical of GWB

Yeah I saw the same thing in 2000, so? They are being posted by people who didn't vote for Bush in the first place. Those people aren't for somebody, they are against everybody, especially Bush.

Bush is not a liberal.

Be nice if he stopped spending like one, and promising to ban guns like one, and offering illegals all sorts of perks like one.

They are malcontnets who voted for Buchanan or Browne.

Actually, I voted for Bush, as did Mrs. Beelzebubba. We were active, donors, rally attenders, and sign posters.

She won't vote for Bush again. I *might*.

Good riddance to you and the Mrs.

I don't "do" polling. Southack and deport do. The fact remains, the majority of Republcians support George W. Bush; and Republicans are going to put him back in the White House.

I voted for Bush in 2000. I don't plan to in 2004. If he changes mightily between now and, then perhaps. However, he won't need my vote. GA is a solid Bush state no matter how I vote.

After last nights speech I decided to vote for the constitution party in November.

It's still important that we all get together and vote for W... The others are much worse, and a vote for the Constitution party is not a conscience vote, but a thinly veiled vote for the eventual Democratic nominee and sinking Bush's re-election--giving the country over to the Democrats. What Bush has been doing during this first term, since 9/11, has been to out-do the Democrats in order to muzzle them (they'd be much more vocal otherwise--TRUST me on this) so that we can accomplish the mission in the War on Terror with at least an external appearance of unity. Even such symbolic things would be damaging to our enemies, who previously thought we were divided and had no resolve, and no will to fight, thanks to the eight years of liberal pseudo-leadership under Clinton Gore, which contributed to a joke in the Arab street that we would merely serve papers on the Taliban, Iraq, etc after being attacked. Yeah we served them alright, attached to M1 tanks and B52 bombers... Some of W's fiscal and domestic agenda I for one dislike to no end--don't get me wrong--I was hacking up at some of the stuff he proposed last night, more so than any of the pork barrel stuff Clinton wanted to do (other than socialized medicine), but you can be sure that the Democrats would do worse for the US. With the Republicans we risk problems at home with illegal aliens being allowed to legitmate themselves through work and out of control spending, but with the Democrats we will see planes dropping out of the sky daily on our cities because they completely lack the will to carry the fight to the enemy--and if you can't be sure that you will end the day alive as you began it, then a balanced budget, a sound imigration policy, all are meaningless.

Not to mention that the current front-page poll of Freepers has only 1 of 5 supporting him on one critical issue.

Fiscal issues aren't his only problem. What has he done on the social conservative front? Notice he did not come out and endorse a Const. Amendment for marriage - which is WHAT IS NEEDED. Instead, I read he wants to spend more of my money - $1.5 billion - on a pro-marraige campaign (what a joke).

I have a question for Bush: Who will FIGHT for what is right in this country? If the Republicans can't take the lead on social issues, then it's time to get out of the way.

I predict that there will be a bunch of FReepers nuked between now and election day.

And that we'll have a bunch of people registering the day after the election who will posture and pose as Bush supporters, and then say, "But if he does...I will sit out the election in 2008."

Of course, I base this on the 2000 election.

Maybe so, but I refuse to vote for big government and big spending. No mater the party that proposes it.

I agree that Bush's spending proposals have gone too far. But you have to remember that Bush is a Christian, too, who cares about those who are temporarily down on their luck.

Some of his spending initiatives are the right thing to do. Faith-based initiatives, easing the way for ex-cons to assimiliate back into society and hopefully becoming members of their communities again, these are all winning issues and money worth well spent.

Go right ahead no one is stopping you, although I can give my opinion that you are wasting your vote.

Oh that's right it is all about your feelings and using your vote smartly goes out the window.

No matter the historical fact that the US has had a two party system for the last 140 years and one of those two parties is going to be the winner in 04.
