i don't know why you are tossing this "elitist" word around. ask anyone on this board if they think the typical Dem voter is ignorant. Sean Hannity does a radio segment everyday where he finds some random people at Penn Station and asks them a few simple questions and makes this point everyday, is he an "elitist" also?

Is Sean Hannity thinks that people in general are dumb and he or some group or Republicans are smart, then he is an elitist too. But I don't think you will hear him say that.
