Did you ever get a definitive answer to a poster a few months back who insisted that she &/or her family were originally illegal immigrants

No. Her father apparently came legally from Mexico, and the claim was made that the family immigrated Illegaly, before their admission was approved.

I did some searching, however, and have found nothing to support this claim. As it stands, it's just an unconfirmed rumor, at most.
