NC.... when I try to write a check, they ask for my ID. when I go to the bank to cash a check...ID.
Pick up kids from school... again ID...stopped at a licence check, road block.. ID. You don't?

Those are transactions where you have to show ID. This article is talking about people sitting in a eating joint. If I'm DRIVING, of course I have a license with me but if I walked to a 7-11 to get coffee? Come on.

I can't remember the last time I needed to show my I.D. other than at a bar. Of course, I haven't gone to a bank for cash in years. The point you are missing is that during each of these events you were doing something by choice and were then asked for you I.D. How would you like it if you were walking down the street or sitting in a restaurant and a police officer walked around asking to see everyone's I.D.?

When was the last time you were stopped by a Federal agent and required to present identification while eating in a restaurant?
Never mind when was the last time...when was the FIRST time this happened to you?
As far as a road block, I have lived in this country for 35 years, and I have never seen police setting up a road block to do random license check. Where do you live that this happens with any sort of frequency?
