Americans are theological fools when it comes to nudity.

What we need is an FCC that fosters civilized behavior.

I think the HPD should have hauled it off to jail for indecent exposure.

BullCRAP! Nothing is going to come out of this investigation! Look at all the stars who have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar only to be given a slap on the wrist and send back to LaLaLand! YAWN!

Argh. the administration seems to have forgotten one of the basic lessons of the Reagan Administration. One of the keys to Reagan's success was his intentional removal of the FCC and other branches of government from the practice of neo-puritan witchhunting.

He believed, quite logically, that deregulation and capitalism were just as good for the entertainment industry as they were for manufacturing.

Electorally, this is no-win and could be costly.

Clear Channel RADIO was just cited for a comedy sketch that "crossed the line". The fine was $750,000. That is single market radio.

Fine $27,000 per affiliate MAYBE.

MTV Networks President Judy McGrath said the finale of the Jackson-Timberlake act caught the network by surprise. "I'm mostly horrified as what I think would have been an entertaining, exciting great halftime show that ended so badly in five seconds none of us knew anything about," she said.

Yeah, Judy, it was just those five seconds that you knew *nothing* about, yet hyped on your web site beforehand. Never mind the crotch-grabbing, flag-wearing, bumping-and-grinding, lip-synching rest of the show. When P Diddy is your classiest performer at the halftime show, you have a real problem.

Investigate? Investigate what? CBS had a seven second delay that they could have "cut away" from the Jackson breast revelation if they wanted to. And they failed to do so. Let's see $27K times 200....that's about $5 Mil. Hmmmmm, will they take a check?

So what was the first outrageous moment in that halftime show? Was it: 1) the first crotch grab, 2) the first act of simulated sex, or 3)Jackson's exposed breast? And if you were offended by either of the first two, why was your television set still on for the third?

I agree that CBS, MTV, Jackson, et al should be fined up the wazoo, but you also have a responsibility to change the channel. So when you read Jackson's apology, maybe you also owe an apology to your kids for not having the guts or the self control to turn the thing off!!!!

12 years from now.

President Granholm's(D-Berkeley/Canada) appointment to the FCC, Former Senator Charles E Schumer(D-NY) commented on the record $1 million dollar indecency fine applied to Spike TV.

'Spike TV's "The A-Team" was fined $1,000,000 for indecency. This board found that the use of dangerous weapons such as guns is harmful to children and deemed indecent.'

Spike TV had no comment.

Go Michael! I hope he files a major suit against CBS/MTV. I'm sick to death of the crudeness. I'm not a prude, I don't really care what they do on TV during the time after Prime-time, but this kind of lowlife stuff being broadcast during the Super Bowl is way over the line.

The problem is, we have a lot of people who are so low class they don't see anything wrong with it. I guess when you are swimming in the cesspool, you can't tell it smells.

The worst part is it is so totally juvenile. Like a bunch of kids playing in their own dirty diapers.

Well well well, all I can say is that the attraction of attention through nudity is the real perversion, because good causes and not flesh should be the focus of TV. I agree with the FCC there, except that it is going after white colar type businesses ... it would not do that to blue colar types.
