I'll take this sentiment a step further in that this whole anti-Bush campaign by the DNC and the media about how the administration lied and manipulated data to start this war is equivalent to pissing on the graves of each and every American soldier who has died over there. Politics no longer stops at the borders with this bunch.

Last night if I remember correctly. Not sure if I heard it directly or of someone playing a cut of McA doing his thing on the national guard service. Definitely not today, tho.

Therefore will John Kerry please quit lying on the campaign trail about President Bush cutting the VA budget. Thank you. If Kerry quit lying .. he wouldn't have anything to say

Of all the things that any Republican President has ever said or done, I think Bush's landing on the aircraft carrier has hurt the feelings of the Democrats most.
I wish I had a convient size photo of Bush on the carrier deck to flash at liberals when they start bashing Bush. It would be like flashing a cross at a vampire.

Yes it is a roll of the dice, and hundreds of thousands of soldiers like myself wound up "over there" but never saw combat. And plenty of others who thought they had a good deal going, then events came along that proved otherwise. The occupation-duty troops in Japan used to form Task Force Smith in the early days of the Korean War come to mind.
I never asked to go most of the places I was sent to, I just went and did my job as best I could. I've got no problem with others who did the same, whether hard times in combat came their way or not. Maybe if I hung around those such more, their good luck would rub off on me....

Thanks for the ping, Howlin.
Welcome straight-talk.
Maybe the RNC should make the Belly Girl poster* their official campaign poster, w/ bumperstickers, and stationary.
Hoo ah!

Here's my two cents worth. I think people on the left hate the Military, Guns and Good ole God and Country Values for one simple reason: They will always hate anything that stands in the way of their socialist revolution...i.e. Military, Guns and Good Ole God and Country Values. It's simple. We're they're enemy.

We have to. I am appreciative of all the links everyone is posting. I have friends who are being besieged by anti-W emails and don't know how to fight back. I am compiling these links from several threads and forwarding them as people require.

When you need help on things like that, just search for backhoe's posts to the forum. He's got compilations you won't believe!

GWB was flying a very tempremental hi performance fighter aircraft, the F-102 interceptor. It had a disturbingly high accident rate. The odds of GWB being injured or killed in a training accident were probably higher than REMF Al Gore's of being hurt or killed in combat.

The 28th Division, Pennsylvania National Guard, is not called the "Bloody Bucket" for avoiding a fight. My recollection is that they earned the monicker for their actions in WWII
A large number of National Guardsman of my old artillery unit were killed in a horrible train wreck while being mobilized for the Korean War.
And they also serve, who sit and wait.
