"I just got the results of a poll in our district, and it's 2-to-1 against the president's immigration plan," a House member said confidentially

Well DUH. Crips, what a bunch of dumb a$$es. Even their poll was off the mark, as it probably is closer to 3-1.

These people are actually in charge of something?

Frightening!

It is because of FR that His Slickness was impeached.

Laughable. Clinton was impeached because of what he did full stop.

"IMO, this needs to be repeated over and over again. This is where we can find some agreement within our party, make some progress, and make a stand."

Totally agree.

why give up? We can not ever have 100% of what we want. That isn't realistic. There is such a fine line a President has to walk. Especially these day with the liberals and their hands in every dirty dealing. We know that much is true.

I would rather use my energies to see if we can make an impact upon George Bush ,than use my energies to get a Democrat elected.

Believe me I have given this much thought.

I don't hate President Bush. I am a bit ticked at him right now, but we don't really know what the back story is.

I believe he is a good man.. but I still think he needs to hear us.

I decided not to give up on him and just try harder to reach him.

We need to find a unified message.

Listening to each other, being respectful of other people's opinions and being willing to work hard will go along way to accomplish this feat.

If everyone could stop calling names and insulting others ,we could use our collective energies to solve a problem instead of throwing mud.

"I believe he is a good man.. but I still think he needs to hear us."

Constitutional principles are not based on "beliefs" no matter how much you or I wish they were.

I want good, moral, decent people to succeed in this arena as well. I just see no evidence of it.

Fondly, 'Pod

I FREEPED, alone, long before the was such a thing as FR! I stood up against the yowling hippies and yippies and antiwar protesters who spat on our returning Nam vets, and I stood up against Caesar Chavez's picketing minions...buying grapes, even when I wasn't going to and waving them at the pickets. My credentials are beyond reproach.

There are two and ONLY two choices come November.....the Dem candidate or President Bush. That's it. Those who whinge and whine and complain and demand this and that here, have to decided for themselves which person, of the two mentioned, they would rather have as president.Third parties are either irrelevant or spoilers. Even IF the fringers could make everyone here and their family members vote fringe, the fringer would still NOT win.It just might cost the president the election though and that would NOT " send a message" nor " teach a lesson " to anyone at all!

I don't know why people are referring to it as a "third-party tantrum". I've never voted third party, and I have voted three times for a Bush.

And I am seriously pissed.

But I wish the party would make up its mind. Either we really are statistically insignificant, in which case it should be a matter of supreme indifference what we do with our votes and our money-- OR we really do hold the key to the election in our hands, in which case our concerns shouldn't be met with such dismissive scorn.
