People's (non-conservatives) ideas of what the President's job responsibilities are way out of whack. The President's (as CinC of US Armed Forces) 1st and most important job function is to defend freedom and liberty for all American citizens. If that means lying, so be it.

That's right. Everyone on the left seems to miss that point.
We're at war and deception is part of war.
Imagine telling the Japanese that Doolittle was on the way!
Or being severely criticized for not alerting everyone to which island was to be hit next. Or divulging the Manhatten project, etc.
Or the enemy telling us the truth in anything.
