In the 1970s when Kerry was active in the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, the Communist Daily Worker published many articles, with photos, detailing his exploits. Kerry's attacks on the US Military and his support of Hanoi drew the attention of the Communist Daily Worker such that Kerry became one of their favorite subjects.
