That is very hard to believe that the military LOSES records. I find that hard to believe.

Thank you very much for your input, ODC-GIRL, and I pray that our men and women will come home in one piece. I DO not put my faith in this administration at all.

Believe me it happens all the time with records...see my above post.....Some of my hubby's medical records are missing from Ft. Polk...he's been looking for them for 20 years...vanished!

My husband worked on converting Navy records to micro-fiche.

He worked in what is called "BuPers" - the Navy Bureau of Personnel.

As they were converting the records to micro-fiche, they noticed numerous gaps - records that had been lost. They would notify the sailor/officer and give them time to correct the gaps. In most cases, lots of paperwork between the individual and their former duty stations had to occur, in order for the missing information to be officially replaced.

Yes, this proves that records get lost. Happens more than any of the services like to think about, but it is true.
