Don't remember any problems when I went to school. Getting a hallway pass to use the bathroom was a rare occurence. Lunchtime and recess seemed to provide sufficient opportunities to use the bathrooms. Fifteen passes a month seems out of hand. I don't think I had to leave class to use the bathrrom that many times in 12 years of school.

What has changed?

I agree with the premise, however, most Jr. High's don't have recess anymore. Even so, if they can just wait till lunch and after school, that should be plenty.
