Deaniacs In a Funk, Want to Secede from U.S.

Their beloved leader has conceded. Crestfallen, they flock to Howard Dean's Internet website Blog For America to express their grief and confusion over Howard's failure to lead his crusade all the way to the White House.

Seattle Times chief political reporter David Postman logged onto the blog site and found that in the wake of Dean's withdrawal from the campaign it has become something of a wailing wall for disappointed Deaniacs unable to grasp the reality of sudden death of their hopes and dreams.

"My God, I'm crying on my keyboard here!" grief-stricken Bob from New York wailed in a posting.

Emily in Indiana was confused: "I just don't understand. I would like someone to explain it to me. The truth I mean, the real truth of why this campaign is over. Dean has more delegates, more volunteers, more money: So why? Why go now? Because of the press? Because Edwards surged? Because Kerry has better hair? Why?"

Perhaps the fact that this poster can't grasp that it is Kerry, not Dean, who has more delegates, due to Dean not having won even one caucus or primary, is part of the answer - just don't try to tell that to her.

Here's sampling of other messages the aptly named Postman found posted on the Blog:

Another thread today talks about how Nader is being physically threatened by Democrats not to run.

Looks like a few of the tree huggers and trustafarians are awakening from their time in hallucination-ville.

We do feel your pain...really. We've been telling you about the Charlatans. We've been telling you that the Rat party is a reprehensible enterprise willing to sell YOUR soul for power, stacks of cash and some shiny baubles...now you're seeing it. Your names and donation details have been gleefully recorded. Be expecting some personalized correspondence from Kerry/Edwards/Hillary asking for your support.

Welcome to the real world.

Maybe now the Deaniacs will realize that the Clintonistas control that party with an iron fist and that their own demoRATS sabotaged Dean from the get-go! I think their only choice to strike back is to vote for the GP candidate...LOL

You know, there's a revelation in this attitude that these folks are oblivious to: that they don't really want to be part of America. That's why they dream of seceding... it's their first reaction. "Change America or abandon it." America means nothing to them in and of itself. It's means to an end, nothing more.

Most of Europe would no longer please them.
There has been encouraging news from Holland, Sweden, France and Italy in the last few days. Germany is still a possibility, but their best and closest hope is Canada.

There is a long history of American whiners and weasels running to hide in Canada my children.
I'll even kick in on the the buss fare.

When they secede they can join up with Quebec and solve a lot of problems for both countries. Since Montreal and Burlington are the two closest cities to me , I might have to move again.

Now that you mention it, isn't it the epitome of irony that the way in which one of them would "support" their new "country" is to open Casinos.

Delusional, Ignorant and walking among us (though they ARE easy to spot).

This level of ignorance is no threat....

Sorry, but I beg to differ. This level of ignorance is exactly the threat. Those who vote Democrat fall into two camps: The woefully ignorant, and the willfully ignorant. Most are woefully ignorant - thinking they are serving their selfish interests without realizing they are actually hurting themselves. The 'willfully' ignorant are those who know better and cynically lie about it.

Here's the problem: They vote in large numbers. They are indeed a threat.

Oh, I think the Deaniacs voted, or at least the ones who were able to penetrate their haze of stupidity long enough to figure out where and when to go. Dean lost because there just weren't that damn many of them to start with. The press mistook loudness (and internet pledged dollars) for numbers and in the process squandered more of what little credibility they have left. Thankfully, they seem to be in the process of doing exactly the same thing with John (I'll be drilling for f***ing oil, and interns, everywhere) Kerry.

You know, dems have always been emotional and easily swayed by silly words but Dean is really beyond me. How was he able to bilk these losers out of $50 million? What was it about him that got folks so agitated? He seldom spoke the truth and ALWAYS spoke in vague generalities. There is absolutely no substance to him and more than a lttle charlaton. Are the young leftists so unable to differentiate between a vialble political office holder and a constestant on American Idol?

As for selling the personal info Dean has collected to the DNC, Blockbuster Video or a chain of abortion clinics, of course he will, "under the proper circunstances." That is the beauty of a left wing liberal, no matter what he says today, he can ALWAYS find a rationale to change his mind tomorrow.

If these guys really, I mena REALLY, loved Dean and what he stands for, they would urge him to run as an independent.

Yeah, the casino approach is pretty funny. It really highlights their ignorance about money. They have no idea how to *make* money. They can demand it, beg for it, borrow it, steal it, win it, qualify for it, redistribute it, hate it and decry it... but they can't make it. Francisco D'Anconia would smile and shrug.
