Does this mean that the AWB, due to sunset, will very likely die in it's sleep?

If it is not renewed by Sep. of this year, it will indeed sunset, or 'die in its sleep' as you put it.

However, I won't put anything past this Congress. Watch for it to be reintroduced, or worse yet, attached to some 'we gotta have it' bill.
