My point is that once an amendment has been agreed to, the possibility of someone standing up and saying "hey! remember the unamended bill!?! Let's return to it and pass it!" are virtually nil.

I realize that other incarnations of an amended bill can be introduced.

The way bradycampaign.org is heralding this as a major victory makes me think they were more concerned about defeating the untouched liability law than about keeping the AWB. Or else they have bigger, nastier AWB plans coming soon.

While the voting results on S. 1805 have to be seen as a surprise, the real explanation lies in what would have occurred in the Conference Committee.

If anyone has insight into how such a committee operates, please post it here.
