This may have been covered elsewhere but wasn't Kerry still a member of our armed forces when whe went to Paris to convort with our enemy?

Surely, this is/was against the law.

No, he had gotten out of the Navy on January 3, 1970 (six months early) to run for Congress. He didn't run.

Yes, he was still a membe of the Idividual Ready Reserve, and still held his Reserve commission. However that fact doesn't make what he did any more illegal under the Logan act. It may however cause a provision of the 14th amendment to kick in, and deny him the power to be President, or even a Senator for that matter.
