Exactly. I had a little over 30 and a half years in the Coast Guard when I retired in 1999; then back for a little while after 9/11.

Yep, same ranking system as the Navy but our "average" unit is commanded by a CPO or CWO and has under 30 people.

Besides size and missions of course, the biggest difference between the Coast Guard and the other services is our average unit is located in a small community. We are part of the community and behave accordingly.

No offense to the Navy folks, but we can't afford to act like a bunch of drunken sailors.

LOL! Thanks for your service. The amzing thing about this puke is that he clearly underestimates the determination of a CPO or CWO to "do the right thing" and his arrogance is sad to see. Although someone like Gunny Ermey could help adjust the attitude here ;-)
