what US job isn't "obsolete by the wages they command", in a world with no trade barriers and hundreds of millions of workers with living standards just above a cardboard box at a garbage dump?

tell us, what do you do for a living?

Any job that requires a warm body to be on site.

Don't get me wrong this outsourcing is bothersome in the short term but if we are to have free markets it is something that we must work through because it is the reality of the 21st century.

The trotting out of anecdotal (though personally compelling) victims of outsourcing is no less a political ploy of the left as the left claims Bush showing 9/11 victims. Neither side has a quick answer that the public in a free nation would accept.

Personally I am an IT professional with my own business.

Its simply companies cheating the laws of supply and demand. Because these "American" companies believe they can go outside the friendly confines the market they enjoy - tax breaks, a business safe environment, government contracts, the world superpower, and just to get cheap labor, not have to pay benefits, etc.

Illegal immigration is the same thing. Employers claim that "no one will take the jobs" because of the low pay. Market laws would say that in order to meet the demand employers would have to raise the wages in order to meet the demand. But no, they are going outside laws of the market and getting illegals to do the work.

Now of course, the US loses millions of dollars circulating through its ecnomy in the process. But Bush and the GOP are running like 1932 Republicans.
