the left wants this to occur. the private sector middle class is a burden to the left: they vote republican, and they are not looking for government handouts.

when that changes, these voters become Democrats. The Dems win on both sides of this issue: they can use it to trash Bush, and they get the votes of the people being affected like the ones in this article. Its a win-win for them, and a lose-lose for the Republicans.

I'm not hearing that. I'm hearing more of the quitting of the political system, a total loss of faith in both parties. And that's more disturbing as the viability of a third party is crucial to turning this sinking ship around.
