Oh I wished he had said, I am an American (like some smart folks on this thread have suggested) or he should have said it doesn't matter or that he was an independent. I hate Kerry, Mr. Brown could have really stuck it to Kerry by not making his party ID known.

Imagine if Bush had dismissed a question just because a Democrat asked. And Kerry has the nerve to suggest he would not divide the country-- it's clear, if you are a Republican you don't merit a response. Kerry is total scum and the media let him do what ever the Hell he wants.

I have difficulty accepting the premise that the Clintons or any "THEY" have enough power to pick the presidential candidate. I remember the flame wars four years ago with the supporters of vanity candidates who claimed it was unfair that "THEY" had handpicked Bush to be coroneted. Just can't find the missing link that allows the "THEY" control the hand of the voter in the booth as he mis-punches his chads.

This is a pretty devastating article. We have Kerry say this: "I think the quote, the quote in the comment I made publicly, I believe, was that I `heard from,' that's the direct quote," Mr. Kerry said. "I've likewise had meetings. I've also had conversations. I said I've heard from, that was what I believe I said."

Then the Times shows his original quote, which is significantly different from what he's claiming now:

"I've met foreign leaders who can't go out and say this publicly, but boy, they look at you and say, `You gotta win this, you gotta beat this guy, we need a new policy,' things like that," Mr. Kerry said, according to a transcript from a reporter who attended the session.

"Heard from" and "met" are two very different things, of course. Not to mention saying that "they look at you", which implies face-to-face meetings.

I saw 3 bumperstickers in my one-mile drive to the grocery store. The first one I spotted literally made me cringe.

It was the second time in recent days that stray comments by Mr. Kerry diverted attention from his themes of creating jobs and providing health insurance.

Oh, the frustration of the NY Times reporter as poor Mr. Kerry is hounded about this matter and gets off his "theme".

I can't wait for the NY Times to demand Mr. Kerry fill in his "theme" with a "plan" including "particulars".

Mr. Brown did a good thing. Another citizen demands of the candidate an answer. Remember the fellow that Dean yelled at to "Sit down! You've had your say".

I saw the incident with Mr. Brown; did anyone else notice the way mr. ketsup-boy, changed the tables? Also the so-called liers slip, I believe it to be a froidian[sp] slip. He was trying to say the demo-rats are the liers and not the republicats. Yes, I believe both parties are very much a like. They both stiffel any chance of a 3rd party gaining a voice in the system!
