I have personally witnessed the drug war as an enforcer, and I can tell you that there is no question that legal drugs destroy much, much, much more than illicit drugs..

If you truly believe "legal drugs destroy much, much, much more than illicit drugs" then surely you oppose making more drugs legal.
Unless of course you are pro-destruction of society.

Of course not, because the cure proposed, i.e. Prohibition, is much worse than the disease.

I do not believe in the fantasy utopia of a "drug free" society. Everything has a trade off, and the trade off for the end of the drug war would be that most people's lives would get better, while illicit drug dealers, the criminal justice system, and politicians would have less money and power.

I can live with that.
