No, you are right, Kerry lacks the Clinton light touch. That was Clinton's genius, and Kerry does NOT have it in spades. When one is a continual critic, it needs to be leavened. Otherwise, folks begin to think the chap is just a male version of a Cassandra, fixated on the gloom and doom, and a total downer. If Kerry keeps this up, he will increase the alcoholism rate.

It is also odd that Kerry has failed to respond to how he will really pay for all his goodies. He may give an opening for Bush to sound like a traditional fiscally responsible Pubbie, which of course, is well, not his strong suit.

Buried in the news lately is Bush expressing dismay over the big spending plans coming out of Congress.
He wants them to trim it back.

The Bush campaign is being orchestrated by geniuses, and it is nice when you can get Congress on board to give you these kinds of openings. Of course, I'm not saying there is any collusion going on here or anything.....
