MADRID, Spain - Police found a bomb on a high-speed rail line between Madrid and Seville, Spain's interior minister said Friday.

Bomb-disposal experts found 22-24 pounds of explosives, possibly dynamite, under a track about 40 miles south of Madrid.

The explosives were connected to a detonator with a 430-foot cable, Interior Minister Angel Acebes told a news conference.

What? Appeasement has failed again? Good thing allah was having technical difficulties this morning and the bomb did not explode.

I suspect that a Spanish "high speed rail line" is hardly high speed.

Nothing moves at a high speed in Spain.

Does any account say whether this is consistent with the 3/11 bombs?

No kidding! Spain has elected a socialist goverment, voiced their intention to pull out of Iraq; as you say, totally surrendered to these terrorists. Why would they have thought this would appease these murdering thugs?

Perhaps they should surrender again, just to make sure!

The 3/11 bombs were cell phone activated.

Fox News Alert - the explosives found today are similar to those used on 3/11, though the intended detonation is different (traditional detonation cord here, cell phones on 3/11).

Spain has to borrow a larger white flag from France.

The Spanish Embassy in Cairo also received a threat a couple of days ago against Spanish interests in Morocco. The group (supposedly AQ linked) threatened to use car-bombs if Spanish troops were not withdrawn from Iraq in 4 weeks.

So in other words, AQ is now setting up a timetable for Spain to comply with the terms of its surrender.

Very interesting, and not at all surprising.

With more info at the top and a link to an actual article, something the original "hot off the TV" thread doesn't have.

"And after you pull your troops out of Iraq, 2 million of your natives are to be exterminated so we can move in".

Thank you, Sincerely, Alqueda Planning Division.

Obviously, I don't have to note "sarcasm".

There is a new word in European lingo for "suicide". It's a Spanish word. The word is "PAZ!".

How's their PAZ (Peace! as in the signs the Socialists in Spain held up after the first bombing) working out?

When the Madrid bombing happened, the verdict of the Spanish people was: THAT IT WAS THE FAULT OF THE VICTIMS OF TERRORISM (viz USA and our victims of 911) AND THE FAULT OF THOSE WHO WOULD RESIST TERRORISM.

That was their verdict.

And so I spit on them.

The Spanish people have raised their terror alert from "RUN" to "HIDE". Not only will we see more of such horrific acts, the Spanish people have now enabled the enemy, a message to the rest of the world that the method of terrorism indeed works, and even destined the horrific blood-bath of such terror to proliferate through this victory that the Spanish people have now given to the terrorists, now embolden.

The verdict of the Spanish people is absurdly repulsive - and it has a unique irony in that, as they capitulate to terror and have blamed those who resisted terror, it is an irony in that with the next act of terror in Europe it would be acceptable to blame the Spanish people in return for what is to come.

When the next "big one" goes off in Spain, I know who I will blame.

When the next "big one" goes off in London. I know who I will blame.

When the next "big one" goes off in Australia, to try and manipulate the election there, I know who I will blame.

I will do the same game the Spanish people did - the same game the Socialists in Spain did.

I will blame the people of Spain.

Even if it were the terrorists who did it.

During the liberation of Iraq, in front of the offices where I work, there were protests, the "Workers World Party" (Communist, "Socialists") there, with their signs and flags.

The flag they flew was the flag of Iraq, while Saddam was still in power.

This same WWP, here in the US, in Europe, has direct associations with the Socialist Party in Spain that came to power.

The Socialists fly the flag of Iraq, they march with the Palestinian terrorists.

Who did they elect in Spain?

They elected Al Queda.

The Saudis have endorsed John F'ing Kerry.

Because he's "more reasonable" about the Middle East than Bush.

Right now, the Saudis are manipulating oil prices.

They want the price to skyrocket - so the Leftists, the WWP, in the media, in the Democratic Party, can say "it's Bush's fault". You see?

Right now, the Saudis are manipulating oil prices. To help John Kerry. To get Bush out of office.

And the media is very willing and ready to help the Saudis.

There are many fronts in this war on terrorism.

The other side shows their colors. They wave their flag. Like the WWP who waved the flag of Iraq in front of my office. It's the enemy. It's in Canada. It's coming over the Mexican border.

It's in Saudi Arabia.

It's in ABC, NBC, CBS.

It has names, and heroes - all enemy intelligence knows who to use as conduits to their objectives ... how to use disgruntled officials in positions of office to help destroy and weaken a front against their terror. To help "put the police on trail" instead of the criminal. You know, conduits like Clarke.

Of course another bomb is going to go off in Spain. We have entered a new phase in this war. The terrorists are now using and working with local terrorist groups in any given region. The Muslim terrorists are working WITH the ETA in Spain. USING them, working WITH Communists in South America. Working WITH pro-Castro groups here in the US.

After all - why shouldn't they? The Socialists are flying their flag.

Oh I don't deny that. Amtrak is hell.

Although Spains tracks are of a different guage than the rest of Europe and that makes crossing the frontier a pain.
