The Amerindians of the western hemisphere do have similar characteristics. However, if you put the average Dominican (70% African/30% European gene pool) against the average Mexican (genetic makeup 80% Amerindian/20% European) you will notice a distinct difference.

The American indians have been traditionaly called the "red man". Why? At the time of the settling of the area now known as Mexico, what did the indiginous people in South America look like?
