You are right about San Antonio. You'd also be right to point out that most of the towns south of there have Tejano mayors, chiefs of police, etc. Unfortunately, Buchanan's reference to Lost Angeles is dead on the mark. I've stated here before that there are great differences in the 'hispanic' population of America. I've also stated that mexico is our enemy.

The trick is to convince the legal and contributing 'Americans of mexican heritage' that the old country is just that ... it should NOT be allowed to spring north lest it destroy what they themselves value here.

They will destroy our country as they have done their own. Of course, for having the audacity to speak the truth, one will be branded a racist! Oh, the horrors! Even on our beloved Free Republic. The handbasket is beginning it's descent.....

Here's a clue:

Buchanan has a problem with Central and South Amerindians.

Ameridians are not "white" either North or South of the border, but Pat takes it to an illogical level when he lumps all Hispanics (descendants of Europeans) in with the Amerindians, and claims that because of a shared language, all Hispanics are no longer "white".

To follow Pat's claim to its logical conclusion, since the North American Amerindians learned English from the Anglo-Saxon settlers of North America, Americans were never "white" either.

Except for the "professiona Latino" political types, most don't need much convincing. A Tejano friend, a very dark complected one, from near Corpus Christi, surprised my wife about 25 years ago with a remark about "those darn Mexicans".
