As of today, OPEC produces only 38% of the world's oil. There are other buyers, not tainted with Islamic terrorism, to buy from.

Probably not. This is just a minor, but significant, effort by some Islamic leaders to establish themselves for future actions. If and when the Islamic world unites it's will, things will get quite interesting: They're way too divided now to do anything major (yet).

The governments of the Islamic world may not be united on religious doctrine, they are united in the jihad part of it - supporting the murder of non-Muslims. They all contribute to such terror groups, harbor such groups, arm such groups, and incite their populations to join such groups.

We can't continue to give murderers a license to kill with impunity simply because they hide behind mosques.

Enough is enough of our brave guys having to take pot-shots because of "political" ramifications. Either they're fighting a war OR they're not.

I assume you mean other producers. We buy lots of oil from Venezuela, Mexico, etc. It wouldn't affect us at all if the ME would just quit producing oil all together? Think again. Oil is an international commodity. It we buy it from a different source (presumably by paying a premium to get them to sell to us instead of their other current buyers), the people who were buying from that source before we bought it out would just buy from the ME in larger quantities so it would be the same, effectively, as if we just sent the other buyers there. Whether we buy it directly or indirectly, we are still contributing to the ME oil situation. If we were to withdraw form the world market by producing our needs domestically, that would effectively cut their production and income; otherwise it makes no difference.

The Korean/Vietnam War mentality of fighting with one hand behind our backs for the sake of politics isn't fair to the guys risking ALL on behalf of the rest of us.

Absolutely. The only enemies that our troops cannot defeat, are the enemies within our own government handicapping them in both subtle and obvious ways.

Watching the left calling this battle front of the war on terror in Iraq another Vietnam and doing everything in thgeir power to make it one, for political gain, is a sickening spectacle to watch.

Listening to the rantings of the decrepit Bob Byrd today, attested to the fact that while the "good" do indeed die young- the "good for nothing" seem to be uneffected.
