10mm is over and done with, it ended up a 40 S&W. No one even makes the 10mm now.

Glock 20, 20C, 29

Tangfolio Witness 10mm, 10mm Compact

Kimber Stainless Target II 10mm

Dan Wesson Razorback 10mm, Global Hunter 10mm

S&W 610 4", 5", 6"

SVI Infinity 10mm hicap and traditional frame

STI 10mm hicap and traditional frame

T-C Contender pistol and carbine

Olympic Arms CAR-97 10mm

And I've probably missed a few others. Plus, every major ammunition maker lists multiple loads in their current catalogs. Best auto pistol cartridge ever.

Kimber is making a 10mm, Glock still makes their 20 and 29 models, Witness has 10mm available in compact and full size (high demand for those), Smith and Wesson is still making the 610 revolver (highly prized are the 3" versions if you can find them), and there are numerous barrels and slide options available for 10mm "franken-guns" on a 1911 platform. I field at least 2 calls a week at our range from people interested in the 10mm, and have enough shooters that I stock 2 kinds of plinking ammo and 4 kinds of hollow point/defensive stuff

Yup 10mm is a dead round (sarcasm off)

those who know shoot 10's ;-)

As with all the other listed, don't forget the MP-10 and I believe there was a Thompson Sub Machingun clone in 10mm.

Thankfully you are incorrect. Check out DoubleTap ammo for some mind-blowing 10mm ballistics.

are there any recent "one shot stop" stats? It was the .357 that was king of that for a long time....but then the .40 came out and seemed to be climbing, but I haven't read gun magazines/stats in ages.

I know there are a lot of .45 fans, and they are fun to shoot. my friend has an old school single action 1911. great ergonomics for such an old gun.

but the article is basically saying "people say the 1911 is no good and unsafe. so to prove the 1911 isn't unsafe and unreliable, read about people using a new .45 made by someone else"

lets not forget though, you're not going to see anyone shoot an out of the box .45 at competions

Thompson Center still does. And the Glock 20 remains available, though there's some question as to how long it's been since an actual production run last came out of the Glock factory.
