Wasn't it the Church Report that forbid the CIA and the FBI from sharing info? I am sure someone on this thread will know the answer. Yes, and there were laws passed after the Church committee did its "job". Nobody seems to want to detail them, including Partisan Media.
Further restrictions were placed on the CIA by Clinton and Torricelli - the restriction against hiring agents who had disreputable character.

"...FBI and CIA "didn't talk to each other." Isn't it true that each was forbidden to do so because of a Congressional act/ruling? Set me straight on this if you know........." The Church Commission was one of key screw-ups that initiated these policies. They had a lot of Hard-Lefties of the Democratic Party with the acquiscence of 1970's, Ford-era (ie. Weannies) Republicans. IMHO, they were the ones who codified and created this 'wall' between the FBI and CIA and 911 can be directly laid at the foot of this bunch of idiots.

Ben-Veniste is quoting Walter Pinkus for crying out loud. What a scumbag. And Chris Wallace told him out-and-out that he wanted to interview Ben-Veniste, not Walter Pinkus. Nice jab by Chris. And this also shows the political equivalent of vertical marketing - how Dem spin is propagated through multiple channels and then is tied together. IMO the attempt to quote Pinkus was yet another damning indicator of Ben-Veniste's partisanship and his rank unfitness to be on this commission.

I was thinking the same thing as I watched, as in her response being, "Are you looking for an answer or a headline?"

I'm at the point now where I think we should call for the 9-11 Commission to be disbanded - because it is now becoming harmful.
The Dems/Libs will see that is is disbanded the moment they have milked it dry (for their benefit). If it looks like 'the commission findings' would be pro-Bush, they would break up ASAP. If they can fault Bush, they will go full court press to get the results printed.
From the tone of the overall Commission, plus the complicit media spin, I see a document heavily faulting GWB and others (with a slight slap on the wrist to Clinton) with the FBI and CIA getting the brunt (even though their hands were tied by law and by Clinton Admin directives).

Just watched the opening few minutes of George Steponallofus on ABC. George mentioned new questions raised by the PDB of August 6, 2001.
ABC then flashed Page 2 of the PDB (Newsday did exactly the same thing on their front page) which reads as follows:
Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.
The FBI is conducting approximately 70 full field investigations throughout the US that it considers Bin Ladin-related. CIA and the FBI are investigating a call to our Embassy in the UAE in May saying that a group of Bin Ladin supporters was in the US planning attacks with explosives.
The clear implication is that "since that time" refers to April 6, 2001. The last 2 paragraphs from page 1 of the PDB read as follows:
A clandestine source said in 1998 that a Bin Ladin cell in New York was recruiting Muslim-American youth for attacks.
We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting, such as that from a ... (redacted portion) ... service in 1998 saying that Bin Ladin wanted to hijack a US aircraft to gain the release of Blind Shaykh Umar Abd al-Rahman and other US-held extremists.
These 2 paragraphs clearly show "since that time" has been taken out of context and in fact refers to 1998 when Bill Clinton was in office.

Yes indeed! The day of reckoning is closing on those evildoers! Don't know if this is the place to post this but I feel W and King David walked the same path as leaders! Kind David and W have Almighty God on their sides so in the end GOD and His children WIN! PRAISE BE T GOD!
Psalms 56
Be gracious to me, O God, for men trample upon me; all day long foemen oppress me;
2 my enemies trample upon me all day long, for many fight against me proudly.
3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in thee.
4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust without a fear. What can flesh do to me?
5 All day long they seek to injure my cause; all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 They band themselves together, they lurk, they watch my steps. As they have waited for my life,
7 so recompense them for their crime; in wrath cast down the peoples, O God!
8 Thou hast kept count of my tossings; put thou my tears in thy bottle! Are they not in thy book?
9 Then my enemies will be turned back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise,
11 in God I trust without a fear. What can man do to me?
12 My vows to thee I must perform, O God; I will render thank offerings to thee.
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, yea, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

Brit agrees w/Condi's characterization of the brief, but predictably Cici takes the lib path.
Ashcroft will be in the commissioners' sights this week. No mention of clinton and gore testimonies. Typical.

Very appropriate, and remember never never in all of history has the majority ever been right!

"I will tell you how. Pinkus is a friend of Wilson and his wife, and I believe Plame and other Clintonistas embedded in the CIA feed him "helpful" information, all from an anti-Bush perspective."
Not forgetting the fact that Ann Pinkus worked as a political appointee in Clinton's State Department.

Brit hit one out of the ballpark - he said despite the reassurances given by Ben-Veniste and Gorton to Chris Wallace earlier on the show, the antics around Clarke and Rice definitely gives the appearance that the commission has descended into partisanship.
