Let me say that I can see kjam's attitude, because I myself am in a dark mood today. I think Fallujah is about to be leveled, and I think a lot of people are going to die. Many that obviously need to, some that I'd rather not. As much as I would like to see the Islamofascists wake up and be something other than evil, they stubbornly, cancerously, refuse to reform. We must now remove that cancer, and it will not be pretty, and otherwise valuable human beings will being feeding the worms soon. This may be the beginning of a major period of activity for our military in the Middle East, and the wetworks will only get worse as they do what must be done. It is a grim, though eagerly anticipated task that now falls upon all those soldiers in theatre to complete. The situation itself does inspire seriousness.
That said: kjam needs to understand that if humans don't have humor, can't LAUGH, can't enjoy SOMETHING, during such times, then we'd better turn in our equipment and head away from the playing field of life.

The situation itself does inspire seriousness. Good post. But, "seriousness" is quite a bit different than "doom and gloom".
Let's hear what the President has to say.
