Well, more seriously than my previous, I think it does go with "love not the world." The press is the world, in its tumultuous, baseless, valueless, anti-God/anti-godliness viciousness rapaciousness. One mustn't hate the individuals, but what they are as a mass, and what animates them, is I think what Christians are to hate.
In Bill Clinton, for instance, you see someone who loves the world, someone whose values and actions were shaped with a constant eye on the media, whom he lived to please. I have many areas in which I wish President Bush were to the right of where he is, but in that sense he does not love the world. He walks the course he believes is right, the media's love be damned.
