Columbia Pictures Has Passion of the Ark

Two unproduced screenwriters have sold their fantastic spec script 'The Passion of the Ark' to Columbia Pictures, reports Variety.

Bob Florsheim and Josh Stolberg's modern day tale of an unmarried man approached by God to build an ark to save the world from a second (end time) flood whetted the interest of all major studios, including Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox and Universal.

But it was Neal Moritz's Columbia based Original Films that prevailed with Original exec Ori Marmur bringing in the red hot spec.

"I want to watch the scene where God puts Noah2 under the operating table, extracts a rib, and clones him a wife, Eve2b."

Who then touches the Ark and turns into a pillar of salt which is cast into the sea and swallowed by a camel which spews her up on a beach after three days.

The movie premise is not going to attract believers the way the REAL passion movie did.

I expect lots more of this folderol.

This is hilarious. Movie execs just flat out could NOT be dumber than they really are.

These morons are not sure if its the title containing the word "Passion" that made Mel's movie so popular or whether it was some religious aspect that made it so popular.

So they are going to cover both bases by having a movie that has an Ark in it with religious overtones AND "Passion" in the title.

Hollyweird, in the depths of their ignorance, seems to think that they can dupe the millions of moviegoers that saw T'he Passion of The Christ'. Which just proves that they're far less intelligent than the audience they're targeting. It'll turn out of be a seagoing 'Ishtar'.

Didn't I just read something about a movie treatment withe the working title "The Passion Of The Rice"? It's about a cable car in San Francisco that has a bomb under it. If the cable car goes less than 6 mile per hour, the bomb will explode. I forget the rest of the story, but somehow Rice-a-Roni saves the day.

Well, this makes as much sense as "The Passion Of The Ark".

I don't know why I am constantly amazed at the complete and utter ignorance of Hollywood types. But I am because it is just so breathtakingly ignorant no matter how many times the behavior is replicated.

These people live inside a tiny insulated cocoon of ignorance out there and just have no concept of what average Americans think, do, or believe. They consistently attempt to provide fare that is stupider than their comprehension level out of the belief that the American public is stupider than they are. Despite failure after failure they cannot grasp that nobody is stupider than they are.

This is the business community that fought videotape and could not see any profit potential in it, this is the community that fought DVD believing that it would destroy their business. This is the business community that could not conceive of a way to sell music on the internet (until Apple basically based them on the head with a crowbar).

Their stockholders are even stupider to allow these people to run these businesses.
