Arab commander in Chechnya killed
Radio Netherlands ^ | April 18 2004

The commander of the Arab fighters in the Russian republic of Chechnya has been killed. The family of Saudi rebel leader Abdul Aziz al-Ghamdi, better known as Abu Walid, has confirmed his death. There has been no official confirmation, and the circumstances are also unclear.

Russian authorities held Mr al-Ghamdi responsible for the Moscow metro attack in February in which forty people were killed. In the 1980s, he fought the Russians in Afghanistan and he has been in Chechnya for the last six years.

Maybe they should release one of those nasty "Russian colds" that used to take out the Russian Premiers between Breznhev and Gorbachev into the Chechnyen water suppy.

The Russians like the Israelis do'nt hold anything back especially because the Terrorists use civilians as human shields. Chechen wahabbis and Palastinian Jamas and PLO are notorious for using civilians for human shields. If a civilian is killed they just say they are a martyr for Jihad! Chechen rebel websites are famous for blaming Russians for killing women and children, but they have no problem training their same Chechen women and children to be suicide bombers! By the way, in Dessert Storm we bulldozered many Iraquis into the sand, even through they were waving white flags. True many of those Iraquis were unwilling conscropts who were probably kidnapped off Iraq streets and forced to fight. But you ca'nt tell whose who in the war!

It's been confirmed on the chechen sites. This guy was the replacement for Khattab so it looks like we need to play catch-up with both the IDF and Russians. A toast to them both for their recent good work.

It will be interesting to see what comes out as the cause of death - currently the chechen sites are all being very close-mouthed about what happened. I am wondering if this was a replay of how they took out Khattab.

Prior to the fall of the Soviet Union there was a conscious policy to woo muslims

Including Bosnians.

There were also quite a few articles being written against the Russians for what they did to Grozny in the mid-late 90's. I recall writing quite a few long emails to WND, for instance, rebutting their posts which were so pro-chechen.

Russia's response to the ongoing criticism was to put together and take on a dogandpony show a compilation of videos the chechens had made of themselves, torturing and mutilating children and other hostages.

I recall reading the responses in several countries to these showings. I believe it was in Helsinki, where a virtual nest of pro-chechen supporters and activists thrives, that a woman passed out and several left the room to vomit, after seeing only part of the video.

It was a most effective vehicle for showing the true nature of the chechens, who raise children to endure in a brutal warrior-adoring culture at best. In most of the videos I have seen, the chechens gleefully hold up body parts still dripping with blood from their victim and the smiles are just not faked.

DEAD!

Ameer Abul Walid (Abdul Aziz Al-Ghamdi), the commander of Arab fighters in Chechnya, has been killed, a family member confirmed Sunday, April 18.

A brother of Ghamdi, aka Abul Walid, said the family had received news of his martyrdom Sunday morning, but did not say how the 34-year-old commander had died, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP). The Saudi website Islam Today said Ghamdi had "been hit in the back" while preparing for prayers on Friday, April 16, adding the incidents took place in one of the camps of the mujahedeen fighting the Russian occupation forces in Chechnya. ____________________________________________________

Wishful thinking, but I hope that "the base" is crumbling from within...

Not so in 1994/1995 - Grozny was strewn with corpses of Russian soldiers and burned vechiles ===

Chechens lost 10 times. Accually it was town fight block for block. If you ask military professionals they tell you that it is most difficult type of battle.
