Don't Be Surprised When Iraqi WMD Found

April 20, 2004

I don't know if you heard about this, because it has not been widely reported. Terrorists linked to Al-Qaeda were poised to detonate a chemical bomb in the heart of Amman, Jordan, that would have killed 20,000 people and contaminated a large area. King Abdullah praised Jordan's intelligence service for foiling a crime never before seen in the kingdom of Jordan. The target was a headquarters of the general intelligence department on a hill in Amman.

King Abdullah was to be in America to meet with President Bush, but decided not to come because of this threat. Where this story gets interesting is that King Abdullah of Jordan says that the vehicles carrying these explosives, the chemical bomb, were smuggled over the border from neighboring Syria. Syria is denying this, but these are weapons of mass destruction.

Syria is a transit point for weapons of mass destruction. The whole subject of where are the weapons of mass destruction remains a focal point of mine. It remains an area of heightened curiosity, because I do not believe that they have been destroyed. I do not believe that Iraq never had them. I think Iraq had them. I think Iraq was working on them. I don't think the world's intelligence agencies are as woefully incompetent and bad and inept as the whole weapons of mass destruction issue would lead us to believe.

There are some things missing from buildings in Iraq, and there's too much speculation out there about how some of this stuff can be miniaturized and transported out of the country easily. Syria is an obvious place, and many people I respect have pointed to the Bekaa Valley as a place as well. We're not going to invade Syria any time soon to find out, but this is the second example of weapons of mass destruction-type coming out of Syria.

Now, they had to get to Syria somehow. I just want to keep your mind open to the possibility that these weapons of mass destruction from Iraq are somewhere, and they've not been destroyed. They haven't just vanished into the ether, and I'm going to make a prediction to you that all of the liberals and critics of the president who have harped on this and jumped on this have once again jumped the gun. They are a little premature here because we don't know yet what, if anything, did happen to those weapons of mass destruction, despite knowing that they did exist. So keep your hats on and don't be surprised down the road what is learned at some point.

Yellow cake uranium has been found at junk yards in Rotterdam and that's exactly what Iraq was looking for. This stuff could have been disbursed over the years to any number of places, and if you think that an Al-Qaeda related group is going to blow up Amman, Jordan with weapons that were procured from Syria, if you think that Al-Qaeda is not related to what all was going on in Iraq, and the Middle East, then you are engaged in blindness or wishful thinking. That is the position of the left, and that's why they can't be trusted to be placed in a leadership position.

" Where was our national defense when we actually needed it?"

LOL, what 'national dfefense' had we a need of against AMERICAN AND UNITED AIRLINES? What declaration of war was issued?

But once attacked, you'd have us cower at home, is that it?

1) Do you acknowledge that Iraq, under Hussein, did indeed posses at the very least chemical weapons?

Dealing under this point with the latest period of time including UN weapons inspections and so forth, no I do not acknowledge any such thing. No evidence has been presented that Iraq has possessed chemical weapons in the last 10 years.

2) Do you acknowledge that Iraq, under Hussein, USED chemical weapons against Iranian forces and against Iraqi civilians?

For the earlier period, there's a good probability. But you should take a look at this information:

Nice to hear from you. Keep your head down and your spirits up ok! I'm stuck here at Knox training newbies. Just remember, 90% of what CNN "reports" smells worse than a camel so don't let their lies and distortions get to you.

Oh, and supposidly Mikey Moore (of "Bowling for Columbine" infamy) has sent two cameramen to get quotes from upset soldiers so he can trash us and praise our enemies in an upcomming 'film'. So verify the media before talking to them.

"As long as the US government isn't involved, they can have anyone running their countries that they damn well please."

Remember the deal? After 9/11 Bush said, "If you harbor terrorists we are coming after you." And we did that in Afghanistan and we won and it was the right thing to do. Now we have to stay so the Taliban does not come back and allow for the training of terrorists who will come and kill us. We have no choice. And the majority of Afghans are glad we are there. We helped those people. They had little or nothing and we liberated them. You should be proud. What in world is wrong with your head?

"I don't have any particular opinions on who I want running lots of countries around the world."

Well I do and if you are interested in peace you should to. Did you have an opinion about Mao or Stalin or Hitler? Get real okay.

"In fact, of the 179 countries in the UN, 178 of them can pick whomever they choose."

They can pick who they choose but if they mess with us we have to deal with them in various ways appropriate to each situation. Just because we can't go after ALL the evil leaders in this world that are screwing up the world and screwing with us does not mean we can't go after SOME of them.

"Let's start with our own country before we worry about "regime change" in Afghanistan or anywhere else."

No. Let's not. Let's plant the seeds of democracy in the Middle East as difficult as it is. They will be better off, and we will too. It is the calling of our generation. We can't ignore this problem any longer we have to face it head on.

Rush: I don't know if you heard about this

Well, yes we have. It was posted three days ago on Newsmax.

Abdullah has to be royally (indeed) PO'd. I too look forward to what he does next. Why not send the bombs back with a cell phone attached to the detonator? Then ask Syrian President Assad to phone home (i.e., the cell phone).

Unless you want to call my friends and fellow officers/NCOs liars, since you already called us despots.

Unless you have friends running the neo-con foreign policy in the White House, I never called them despots.

do we have, in your view, a right to self-defense?

Self-defense is precisely right. And there was never any self-defense of the US in Kosovo.

If you think we do, then why can't we go after those who trained those who attack us, financed them, and actively broke every aspect of a cease-fire/sanctions treaty they signed with us and our allies?

Just when did Slobodan Milosevic attack the US or finance anyone who did? I think you have him mixed up with his enemies, the KLA.

But as for Kosovo, much of that sector belongs to Europe's forces and Europe gained much of the responsibility for rebuilding it. What should we do with a mere 2000-2500 troops on the ground, especially since we probably will be pulling out of Bosnia/Kosovo soon?

You seem to be admitting that we were in a no-win situation over in the Balkans. So what were we doing there, and as you say, why shouldn't we leave it up to the Europeans?

There is HUGE evidence that he financed terrorism, provided safe haven and training for them and helped Osama Bin Laden.

Why then didn't the White House provide one bit of this "HUGE" evidence? OBL hated Hussein. They are total polar opposites within the Middle East. Hussein is a secular ruler out for his own gain. OBL is a muslim fanatic. They never worked together. Show one bit of evidence that Hussein ever helped OBL.

Does our friend hold Israel responsible for 9/11? And if he does, will he have the courage to say so?

He holds "neocons" in contempt, and he's already treated us to a diatribe against media-personalities-with-Jewish-sounding-last-names.

One could see these views coalescing a mile down the thread. I'm just waiting for the big payoff.

Restrain yourself?? Well, if you must....maybe it would be more fun to have them arrested and returned to the US for punishment...or maybe not.

The fact that they were there is not even in dispute since they were used on the Kurds and the Iranians. The burden of proof is on you, the French and the rest of you ostriches to prove they are no longer there and tell us what happened to them. Just as I thought, you have nothing but cynicism.
