I remember Memogate. Senator Rockefeller, on the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, wrote a memo detailing a plan to selectively declassify and use against President Bush anything potentially embarrassing that they could.

He was called to task by a few others, among them Senator Roberts, head of the committee, and Senator Zell Miller, who said, "If this is not treason, it is a close cousin."

Senator Rockefeller was called on to resign over it. He refused to, and he refused to apologize.

This is war, on the home front. Our best weapon is the truth. Everyone must remember, and everyone MUST know.

Well .. I don't recall Rockerfeller being charged with writing the memo. I heard it was written by a democrat STAFF member.

IIRC the memo stated that the dems had already USED Chairman Roberts to obtain some of the things they wanted. Indicating Roberts was a pushover they were using to their advantage.
