I have a funny feeling...and maybe I'm wrong...but I think this story has just about run its course...I don't think we're going to be seeing many more, if any, photographs, hearing any more calls for Rumsfeld's resignation, or much more about it at all...

No matter what this is all about, and I did read the lengthy report posted elsewhere on this forum, I'm just getting the feeling that the story is about over, and we're going to move on to something else pretty soon.

FR has had probably hundreds of articles about it, and most of what I hear on the street is, "Oh?" and a lot of support for Rumsfeld, President Bush, our friends and relatives over there cleaning up after Saddam, and optimism. I think the liberal press, most mainstream media, is clueless about regular folks, who do not blame President Bush or Secretary Rumsfeld for this scandal.

I also hear a LOT of people who are sick of the fact that every single little thing about this war is politicized in the extreme. Most expect another terror attack, and people are more vigilant than you might suspect.

Secretary Rumsfeld did us all a HUGE favor by going in front of Congress on national TV last Friday. He did an excellent job facing up to every question that was asked. He favorably impressed most people that saw anything of it.

I happen to think this was politically timed and used by CBS and certain leftists, notably folks of Senator Rockefeller's ilk, to harm the President, nevermind the military. Unfortunately, no matter how much the media wants us to get worked up about it, most Americans aren't. There are a lot of Viet Nam vets in the country with families and friends, there are a lot of military presently with families and friends.

This just isn't going to make for mass demonstrations against the president by the average voting American. The fact that the British photos were from a porn site further dampens the interest of Americans in this whole issue.

I'm almost ready to bet that this storm has just about blown over. I'm ready for the next play from the liberals. And I'm not anywhere NEAR alone.

I am going to pray that you're right.
I know Hackworth has had it in for Rummy
for quite some time now, and CBS's 60 Minutes
has always had the democrat agenda.

I'm really happy you told me about
folks you come across seeing it our way.

Right you are and they are also trying to harm the war effort too -- turn Iraqi's against Americans.

"Those Americans, they no better than Saddam".</Iraqi accent>
