I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing,
And hang around in bars.

"Are we impugning Romans for wearing "skirts" any more than Greeks or tons of others in time?"

No, but I don't think Hollywood is ready to depict the heroes of Troy as they probably really were. Their art tells you a lot about how they really dressed. They also felt throwing stones & boulders was a good way to fight (just read the Iliad - both Hector and Achilles tried killing the other in their epic confrontation using stones/boulders).

trousers were invented by horse riding cultures. Isn't that obvious?

One thing you would never want to see is me in a pair of tights...

Those are really not much different than a pair of long-johns...
except they don't have a trapdoor, of course.
In colder climates, they may be useful for keeping warm by dressing in layers
but by themselves, it's too much like appearing in public dressed only in your skivvies.

If you think Greeks went around naked all the time, you're sorely mistaken! Olympic vases are not the same as every-day or warrior art. Sports, sure, oftentimes being quite naked would be most advantageous. But who in their right mind would want to be naked going into battle? You need as much protection as is reasonable. Not to mention being beaten all over by the sun is not great, either.

LOL. Don't forget, Rupert wore a skirt throughout Survivor Pearl Islands as well.

They probably used a 'sun block' olive oil to keep the UV rays out - wore Raybans too.

some men do look good in kilts.

Modesty forbids me saying whether I looked 'good', but I have worn the kilt on a few occasions. It seemed slightly odd at first, but after getting used to it, it was very comfortable.

Braveheart was a successful film and was inspirational but it did little to inspire men to wear kilts. Word is that Troy may not even be good.

The issue is not "skirts"..it's what they they're gonna wear UNDER the skirts...

I can't wait for Kerry to have his "boxers or briefs" moment on MTV. "Senator, do you wear a thong or those frilly French panties?"

I can't see how this movie can work.

It's supposed to be about 'Helen of Troy', the most beautiful in the world.

Yet it's obvious from the trailers that the most beautiful one in the movie is Brad Pitt.

I refuse to see this film. Brad Pitt and his wife are Bush haters and support the "traitor" Democrat Party. They will not get one cent from me. This movie should be boycotted. I hope it flops, big time!!!!

As long as you keep them right-side-up, what difference does it make?
