In my home...my guests must adhere to my rules. That includes keeping their language clean and not being disruptive to the moral upbringing of my children.

In Jim Robinson's home (Free Republic) I feel the same rules apply. He alone has the right to say what is allowed in his home, and we must respect that or leave!!

I've never called a fellow freeper a troll. The only folks I call trolls are the coconuts who sign up the same day or lurked for five years without a single post. Dissenters are here, and I don't see what the fuss is. Law and order is good thing, esp. in a forum visited by the media.

I like Mr. Robinson's prime directive: "This site will not be used to aid the defeat of George Bush." I'm paraphrasing, but I think that's the jist of it.

As always, I defer to he who hosts us all here.

Maybe he should change the site name to "Jim's Kingdom", that would clear the issue once and for all, right?

This is not Jim Rob's home, however. Free Republic is a wonderful thing, it's gotten bigger than one person's personal website. This more like Jim Rob's Debating Society. he's built a public space that anyone browsing the net can amble into, that hundreds of folks post to every day. Lots of people now chip in money to support this internet Debating Society. The community, not just Jim Rob, now make what is FR.

So, we can defer to Jim Rob's vision since he's running it, but what that vision should be should be asked in terms of what is best for the whole FR community here.

100% on the money!

As Jim says in his statement on the Home Page. This is a "private" site for conservative discussion.

The dems hate it because they want to be allowed to come here and bash us. They don't want to discuss .. they want to tear down and intimidate and name call. I've had some really great discussions .. I've also had some disgusting discourse with name callers.

IOW, you have no use for vigorous debate -- or any other kind.

No dissent here. I agree with your above statement.
